Burial Benevolent Fund & wellbeing support

A portion of every monthly contribution — KES 200 — goes into the Burial Benevolent Fund (BBF), so members are supported at the hardest moments.

In the event of death

  • Primary member — each member contributes KES 2,000, plus KES 20,000 from the BBF, to the nominated family member.
  • Spouse or child — each member contributes KES 1,500, plus KES 16,000 from the BBF.
  • Parent — each member contributes KES 1,000, plus KES 10,000 from the BBF.

Ill-health support

Severity is assessed by the Management Committee together with a recognized medical officer. All members are expected to be registered with NHIF; where an illness isn't covered and admission runs over a week, the group provides a medical subsidy.

Medical subsidy: KES 10,000, for illnesses not covered by NHIF
